If It's Good Enough for Sharks

I read that scientists have confirmed the second case of "virgin birth" in sharks. Let me slow down, and repeat that. Scientists have confirmed a second case of "virgin birth" in sharks. The first documented case involved a hammerhead, while the second was an Atlantic blacktip.

According to
shark scientist Demian Chapman, "The first case was no fluke. It is quite possible that this is something female sharks of many species can do on occasion." Indeed, virgin births are not news in the animal world as it has been already proven in some bony fish, amphibians, reptiles and birds.

Asexual reproduction or parthenogenesis or "virgin birth," is birth of an offspring without the help of a male. Okay, so let me take this in. When scientists claim a female shark can have a "virgin birth" the world gets behind it and rejoices in great wonder But if Mary of the Bible claims to have had Jesus Christ through "virgin birth," the world ridicules and scoffs. Perhaps we need the scientists to get on this right away.
