It didn't occur to me until this morning when I looked out my living room window and saw an expanse of clear, blue sky ~ no lush green leaves, no massive tree trunk, no cool shade ~ that I have removed a wonderful sanctuary for birds. I'm a sucker for birds, particularly the small ones, and now I have removed the very thing that brought them to my yard. Yikes! So while I continue to mourn for my tree, I must now mourn for the birdies as well.But God tells us not to worry about even the birds because He provides for all their needs, too. So I just know that when our new tree comes to rest in our yard next spring, it will be welcomed by not just me but by the birdies as well. God is good.
