thankful thinking day 16
My husband solved the mystery of where socks disappear to when they leave our feet and enter the laundry room. We always wondered how a pair of perfectly matched socks could separate, and worse yet, divorce and never be paired again.
As my husband was searching for something under our bed, he made the startling discovery of where these divorced socks go. Our floor is tile not carpet, which makes it all the easier to see the dust bunnies go scampering across the bedroom. And they love to scamper right under our bed where we don't vacuum very often.
You can imagine my husband's shock and dismay when he looked under the bed, and there amidst the dust bunnies, lay lint. Yes, lint. It seems that these poor socks that choose to divorce their mate, end up broken and unraveled. It seems that the real world away from the cozy nest of the sock drawer is just too much for them to handle and they just fall apart from despair. A moment of silence for these poor, shattered creatures.
Lord, I have experienced the pain of divorce and I am thankful that you have faithfully restored my shattered life with a renewed hope in the special bond that You created in marriage.
"Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." (Mark 10:9)
