thankful thinking day 18
I awoke early this morning to one of the most beautiful, magical and yet, daily spectacles in nature. I awoke to pre-dawn, just before sunrise. The black of the evening sky was already turning to deep blue and the slightest glow sat on the horizon. I walked outside to breathe in the fresh dewy air and feel the start of a new day on my face. And as I watched in thankful wonder, the sun rose from its slumber to once again to spread light and warmth to my part of the world.
And behind me, in the quickly fading evening sky, shone a full moon in all it glorious splendor. Nature's bookends. The sun before me and the moon behind me. Birds singing the promise of a new day.
Lord, thank You for the daily gift of new beginnings. While I may not watch the sun rise over the front range of the Rockies like my dear friend, Lorri, I am grateful to watch it rise over my "mountain" of rooftops. Thank You for the empty canvas of a new day; for the possibilities that each day offers.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands....In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other." (Psalm 19:1,4-6)

Today I find myself thankful for wonderful friends (like you) who care about others and aim to see the world through the eyes of Christ. You bless my life, mary
