A Two-Way Street

thankful thinking day 20

I've been thinking about the abundance in my life. That's what a month of thankful thinking will do for you. It makes you think daily about what you have and how richly you have been blessed no matter what the circumstances, no matter what the unfilled promises, wants or needs.

I've been thinking about the people in my life. Close ties and mere acquaintances. Daily I have a choice to be touched by them and to touch back. Daily I have a choice to give love and to receive love. It's a two-way street. It's not a straight and narrow path but a varied pathway that's sometimes smooth and inviting, and sometimes rocky and rough. I am thankful to be traveling on this street.

Lord, thank You for the gift of people in my life. My husband, family, friends, acquaintances and even the strangers who cross my path. And while I may not always like the way we interact, I thank You for the opportunity to learn from each encounter so that my relationship GPS will become more founded in grace and love.

" God is love...We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:16b, 19)
