a month of giving
I'm giving a dinner party tonight in celebration of Christmas and friendship. It's not as fancy as it sounds but I do ask my guests to dress up a little, bring a pre-arranged dish and expect to have fun. Did you notice how I snuck in the phrase pre-arranged dish? Yes, you could say that I am hosting a fancy potluck tonight. Oh but what a wonderful potluck it will be. I will get out my table linens (not plastic), cloth napkins (not paper), good china (not everyday dishes) and fine crystal (not unbreakable tumblers). The house will be decorated. The music will be of Christmas cheer. Yes, it will be a festive affair and I'm really looking forward to it.
