Tea Time

Yesterday I had a tea adventure with four friends. It's part of my on-going birthday celebration. Yes, my official birthday date is December 29 but who is hanging their hat on minor details like that?

We gathered at a traditional tea room complete with lots of lace and floral arrangements. Normally, that's not my scene, but it's really fun to "play tea" once in a while, especially with friends who know how to party in any setting.
This is a very lady-like establishment but I can't say we were totally lady-like. We used our manners but definitely did not use our lady-like voices as stories gained speed and laughter ensued.

I must recommend the chocolate tea. Oh yes, black tea infused with a hint of chocolate and spearmint leaves. Now that's a tea I can indulge in. That was our dessert tea. We started with a proprietary blend of black tea and rose oil followed by a mellow green tea infused with chamomile and lemon grass. And of course, there were the traditional tiny sandwiches and other teeny tasty treats.

All in all it was a delightful afternoon and I would have thoroughly enjoyed it even if it wasn't my actual birthday -- oh, that's right, it wasn't but whose keeping track?
