Heading North
road trip - where in the world is Tor?
We left the Bay Area and headed north for a stretch of road that is straight, fast and sometimes boring - Interstate 5. What is interesting is to watch the topography, geology and botany change as we head further north. From rolling hills covered with the last green grass of spring ~
past a man made Lake Shasta surrounded by deep red soil ~
towards heavenly snow-covered volcanic Mt Shasta that completely dominates the landscape~
past verdant farms with cities few and far between ~
to the border between California and Oregon ~
What did Tor learn on this part of the trip? Even though we started at about mid-point in the state, there were still a lot of miles to cover before we reached the border. And Redding holds the dubious honor of having the hottest temperature on this stretch of our journey. Really, nothing more profound than that.
