Injustice Hasn't Disappeared

Since you couldn't join me in my justice training yesterday, I'm going to share some of God's word on engaging in social justice. If this material sounds familiar, yes, I have posted comments on justice in the past. And no, the problem hasn't gone away by you/me doing nothing about it. Yes, I'm on my soap box. Maybe someone will hear me and take action in some small way.

I love what Cathy, one of my Facebook friends, said about justice (although it's rather sobering) ~ "Lord, why do You allow injustice and suffering in the world?" His response, "Why do you?"

Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:17)

O Lord, you will hear the desire of the meek; you will strengthen their heart, you will incline your ear to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed, so that those from earth may strike terror no more. (Psalm 10_17-18)

He has shown you, O people, what is good and what the Lord requires of you; but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

You have neglected the more important matters of the law - justice, mercy and faithfulness. (Matthew 23:23)

I'm applying to be a Justice Advocate for International Justice Mission in order to educate churches on human trafficking and other social injustices, and on what they can do about it. This is what I can do. Are you or your church interested in learning more?
