We've had a waterfall and pond in our backyard for years and love the sight and sound of it. When we planned on our front yard re-do, we knew that a water element had to be added. Now when we open all our windows we get the sound of water in stereo.
I love the sound of water. It's so soothing. I even have one of those sound machines next to my bed that can be set on "ocean waves" or "babbling brook." It puts me to sleep every time. Nurturing. Calming.
Jesus had a different take on water when He said to the woman at the well, "if you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked HIm and He would have given you living water...whoever drinks the water I give (her) will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give (her) will become in (her) a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:10 & 14)
