The internet never fails to amaze me, entertain me, even annoy me. It also inspires me.
I read about woman #1 who, to make a long story short, thought she lost her wallet when she was in line at the grocery store to pay and couldn't. Woman #2 who was behind her paid the $207 instead. Later, woman #2 wrote on her Facebook page that she was either someone's angel or fool that day for paying a stranger's bill.
Fast forward, woman #1 later found her wallet and sent woman #2 a check for the original amount and a small bonus, the total equaling $300. Women #2 went back onto Facebook and posted her quandary about keeping the extra money. Within minutes friends said that woman #2 should donate the extra money to charity. Some even offered to chip in more. In the end, woman #2 and her friends donated $2,000 to feed the hungry in the neighborhood.
So woman #2 not only helped a stranger in line at the grocery store, she and her friends "grew" her "thank you" reward to feed even more strangers.
That is the power of kindness, friendship and the internet. It's the face of Jesus in the 21st Century.
The King (Jesus) will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40)
