There is more to this Christmas story ~

...the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin ,,,,(named) Mary...The angel said to her..."you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus."....Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered..."The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also that the Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." ~ Luke 1:26-35

"To not know a man" is a euphemism for virgin. That means Mary was a virgin.

virgin ~ (n) a person who has not experienced sexual intercourse; in a pure or natural state, untouched.

Our belief in who Christ is depends upon our belief in the nature of His conception and birth. If we do not believe that Christ was God incarnate, born of a virgin through the miracle of Holy Spirit conception, then He is merely a teacher or a prophet who is a good example to follow.

Unfortunately, we miss out on the truth of Christ. We miss out on the good news of Christ. We miss out on the grace and salvation of Christ. We miss out on the greatest love story ever told that continues to unfold into eternity.
