Paper or Plastic?

I could get lost in a sea of words and ideas. I'm thinking of starting a blog on books I'm reading; maybe even writing poetry again.

There is no doubt that it's exciting to post on-line thinking that maybe a few people are reading my words, but honestly I write because I have to. The words need to get out.

Reading, on the other hand, is something I love to share not just for myself but with others.
Electronic books seem to be all the rage. I want to know ~ do they give you the same thrill as the feel and smell of the pages of a newly acquired book? Can I underline, highlight and make notes in the margins? Can I share with someone, a reader with whom I can entrust my written treasure? Can I visit the books over and over again, or do they sit on a virtual shelf under someone else's control?
