The Cost of Gratitude

I know you must be getting sick of the skiing thing by now, but allow me one more indulgence. I can remember the days when I would flip out if we didn't get to the slopes when the lifts open and stay until they closed. Half hour lunch was all I would tolerate. It was about the skiing, man!

I thought about that yesterday as I slid onto the chair at noon. We drove up knowing we would only be gliding down our beloved slopes for half day. It was okay. It felt good. I felt gratitude for the hours I was able to get. (And it helps that I have a season's pass so at this point in the season, yesterday probably cost me pennies.)
