Different Kind of Tumbling

Road Trip ~ Desert Lessons continued

I love this picture of Claudia because it perfectly exemplified our feelings on this road trip. We needed to shed our burdens and just experience the joy of being ~ sort of like a tumbleweed rolling aimlessly where ever the wind takes it. Or is it aimless? The whole point of a tumbleweed cutting loose from its moorings and taking flight is to spread its seeds over the land. There is purpose to its wanderings.

Sometimes the tumbleweed is stopped by seemingly insurmountable barriers like this barbed wire fence. Or is it a barrier? Maybe, instead, it's opportunity or healthy boundaries or a lesson to be learned.

It's a lesson to me that I need to look at my tumbling as purposeful; my barriers as useful. It's a lesson to me that I may need to revisit several times before I'm able to continue on my journey.
