My heart cries out
to the fighting men and women who gave their lives and
to the families who suffered their loss.
I may not have always agreed with the war
or battle to which you were sent,
but I will always respect your willingness to serve
and to die for our country.
This weekend I give thanks.
This weekend I honor you.
