Here's Looking at You, Dad
My dad was my hero. He's gone now. Today it will be three years since he died peacefully in his sleep. I miss him. Conventional wisdom says that time heals all wounds. The immediate searing pain of his loss no longer lives with me daily but that arrow still knows how to shoot straight into my heart. The earth continues to turn, life goes on and our reunion awaits in heaven, but as long as I am earthly bound, I mourn his passing. He was a man of character, a man of virtue, a man who deeply loved his family. My hero.

What a sweet testament to your father's influence in your life. I love the way you describe the arrow finding its way to your heart. I lost my mom 2 1/2 years ago and that is exactly how it feels sometimes.
Sending you hugs,
Tamara
