Mom's Story continuedMy mom was simply stunning. She was 35 in this photo. Coming from a family of blonds, she was strikingly different but I think she secretly yearned to fit in and look like them. I think she looks like a movie star.
Having married a blond, she always hoped one of her kids would be blond and her third child finally blessed her with blond hair and blue eyes. We joke that she kept trying until she had one. I, her first, was born with blue-black hair which turned auburn as the months passed. Of her three grandkids, only my son was born blond but the color turned dark by the time he was 7 or 8 years old. We are all past child bearing years, at least we would be insane to have a baby now, but she still talks about it. We threaten to get her a dog with blue eyes and blond fur.
Mom said younger men were always asking her out. I think it's because she looked and acted so youthful for her age. It was fine by her. She did try dating an "older" man once and she found him excruciatingly boring. Mom wanted to dance and have fun but he was too much of a stick-in-the-mud for her. After that she decided younger men were just fine, thank you very much.
She stayed true to her word. My dad was 6 years younger than my mom. In that era, she was positively robbing the cradle. Today they would have just called her a cougar.

Great post! I tried dating an older man too at one point. Every girl has to try the 'trophy wife' outfit on for size at least once...Tell Mom, I found mine to be a bit of a fuddy duddy as well...but the mercedes he drove sure was nice ;)
