Panic Button

Lessons from the Kitchen

I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and spent an entire hour spinning negative thoughts through my head.   Did we paint the wall the wrong color?  Did we raise the cabinets too far off the counter?  Should the upper corner cabinet door have been solid instead of framed for glass?  Will the appliances fit their allotted slots even though we measured, checked and remeasured?  Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

After an hour I was sick of myself and the endless questions.  Too late now.  Trust in our thoughtful preparation.  Trust in our design.  Trust in our instincts.  Trust   Ah, that's better.  Nighty night.

Postscript ~ The Lord has gifted me with certain talents and strengths.  He expects me to do my part.  But it's always best when I remain grounded in Him to guide my path.  It keeps me from hitting the panic button and going into a spin cycle.

So that your trust may be in the Lord, I teach you today, even you.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  (Prov 22:19, 3:5)
