Dealing with Disappointment

Lessons from the Kitchen

After my struggles in finding just the perfect color and design for the back splash, the visual candy for my kitchen, I have been informed that my choice is unavailable.  It seems that it's imported from Italy, and the local warehouse is out and won't be ordering any more.  I had asked the salesman to check prior to making my decision and the warehouse assured him that they had plenty of stock ~ oops, their mistake, plenty of stock in a style similar to but not the same as the one I had chosen.

I'm not even going to go into how many different tile stores I have been to searching for the right back splash.  I'm not even going to go into how many jillions of glass options there are but so few fit my specifications.  I want different.  I want Euro-modern.  I want hello-look-at-me without being garish.  And so now I am back at square one.  Sigh.  How disappointing.

Lord, help me put this all in perspective.  Help me take a big breath and when I let it out, I let go of my disappointment.  Re-energize me for the "hunt" but don't let me get caught up in perfection.  Amen.

Can you google it and find another supplier or get it direct?
