Journey of Glass

Lessons from the Kitchen

Not a whole lot of words today, just photographs to show the journey of glass as it becomes a key player in the look and (almost) completion of our kitchen project.  While it looks like my husband worked through one day and night, it took him several days to finish.  The end result is fabulous!  (P.S. bought my Bellavita tile through www.TransworldTile.com.  Terrific service and even more terrific prices.)

An empty palette.

It begins.

It looks like the knife rack is floating, but it does work aesthetically when everything is in place.

For added emphasis, a single line of glass as you enter the kitchen.  It creates a nice visual flow and is an unexpected design element.

Almost done!  The range gets installed next post.
(And yes, those with sharp eyes have noticed that these photos were
taken before green became the chosen color of the wall.)

Actually, Peppermint, the trick is that the glass is mounted on 12x12 mesh backing so it's somewhat like laying one 12x12 tile, except not. He's my hero.
