The Reason for the Season Revisited

"My thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways My ways.   As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways and thoughts higher than yours."  (Isaiah 55:8-9)   Remember who I am when you spend time with the King of the universe ~ any time, any place.  Never take this amazing privilege for granted!  (excerpt from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, Dec 4th)

Sometimes I do.  Sometimes I am very casual in my interaction with God.  My relationship with Him is like a best friend forever, but as wonderful as best friends are, He is so much more.  He is, after all, the Alpha and Omega ~ omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient.  He is the King of kings, the Creator of heaven and earth, the almighty, eternal and living God.  He is my Savior.

Who am I to think that I know His ways, His thoughts, His plans, His will?  As wonderful as it is to be in relationship with my heavenly Father, I must never lose sight that I am allowed into His magnificent, overwhelming presence simply because He loves me with an unconditional, everlasting love.  And it's that love that I am celebrating this Christmas season.
