On Packing and Distracted Drivers

Road Trip ~ Utah or Bust

Hello February!  It's so nice to be on the road again, but I must say it's always a hassle getting ready.  Clothes, shoes, cosmetics, yada, yada, yada.  I usually don't take a lot, which means I agonize over what I'll take since once we leave the house I won't have tons of choices.  Oh, let's be honest, I don't even really care what's in my suitcase once I hit the road.  I'm too distracted by the adventure.

One thing that does bother me though is distracted drivers.  The "me" generation is taken to a whole new level once people get behind the wheel of a car.  They pull out in front of you ~ even if you have the right of way ~ and act all annoyed if you give them the stare.  You know the one.  I see that stupid move you made, Mr. Distracted Driver.  I sometimes give that stare to pedestrians.

It all smooths out once we hit the open road with no worries over packing, no crossroads and zero pedestrians.  That's when the adventure really begins.  Today, our trip takes us over the endless, mindless roads of Nevada.  Destination ~ Elko ~ home of the cowboy poetry festival.  Too bad the festival is months away, but the town makes a convenient overnight rest stop in the middle of nowhere so Elko it is
.
