Sundance

Road Trip ~ Utah or Bust

Sundance by the numbers ~ 35. 17. 12,000. 7. 15. Handful.  More than us.

It was a 35 minute drive from our hotel, through Provo, up the canyon to Sundance.  In that short amount of time the temperature dropped from 17 to 7 as we reached the ski resort that sits on the eastern slopes of the 12,000 foot Mt. Timpanogos, the highest peak in the range.

Sundance is not a big, flashy resort.  It has been intentionally designed and built to compliment and respect the land.  That's why we were so excited to visit.  It knocked us out, however, that our lift tickets were $15 and we competed for slope time with only a handful of skiers.  Of course, skiing midweek always helps.

We parked behind a vehicle that drove more miles than we did (from Alaska).  They get the prize for distance but we all win when it comes to enjoying this sweet spot.
