So when I was writing my blog yesterday, I found myself perusing through the dictionary again. I say "again" because I find the dictionary fascinating reading. Okay, I'm a dork.
Here's one of my new favorite words ~ horripilation (n) The bristling of the body hair, as from fear or cold; goose flesh. (from the Latin "horrere" or to bristle and "pilus" or hair).
Too bad I didn't discover it in time for a Halloween post, although I'm sure that horripilation is a year-round phenomenon thanks to ever-present fear in daily living. God calls us to live without fear and worry by trusting in Him.
Live carefree before God; He is most careful with you. (1 Peter 5:7 The Message)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)
I do trust Him in my daily life but I have to confess that I still feel horripilation on the ski slopes:)
