There is More to This Christmas Story...
"Surely the day is coming...all the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble...," says the Lord Almighty...."But for you who revere My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings..." ~ Malachi 4
Thus ends the Old Testament. God was furious and heartbroken with His people for repeatedly turning away from Him, so much so that He remains silent for the next 400 years. But even in His final words, He offers the hope of salvation.
I love the word play on the word "sun" in this passage. The sun represents life-giving light and warmth for our planet. There is another son that, too, is life-giving and that's the Son of God. He is our salvation, our reconnection to God. The life He gives is eternal and it's ours for believing and asking.
