I awoke this morning to a spectacularly clear, blue, sun-filled sky after an unsettled day of rain. There's a freshness in the air, a clean slate, an offering of potential.
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail...They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness...The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him. (Lamentations 3:22-25)
Easter weekend is ahead of me. I approach it with reverence and joy.
I approach the cross knowing I am in flawed human being. I am humbled and aggrieved by what my Lord actively chose to suffer for me/us at His crucifixion. But the weekend does not end with Friday night. It just begins. The Truth and possibilities of this weekend are fulfilled in His Resurrection on Sunday morning.
I approach Easter from a position of gratitude ~ of actively accepting God's love, compassion, goodness and faithfulness ~ of accepting the daily possibilities of life in Him ~ of the potential inherent in eternal renewals.
