Extended and Enduring

It occurred to me last night while celebrating a friend's engagement, that my family extends beyond blood lines.  As I sat back and watched the festivities, I realized that I love and deeply care about many of the people in that room.   While I may have known them for many years, it is only in the past several that we have begun to let down our walls and really share our lives.  As I celebrate the impending nuptials of one couple and the brand new engagement of another, I celebrate as if they are my own children.   I share happy hearts with their parents.   I embrace the dear friends who are equally a part of this extended family.

Love is a beautiful thing.  And when my earthly family disappoints, as they will, or when I am not feeling very loving towards myself, which I will, then I know that there is one source of unconditional love that I can always count on ~

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.  (Psalm 118:1)
