Outside In and Inside Out

Lessons from the Kitchen continued

From the outside of our house you would have no clue as to what is going on inside, specifically in our kitchen.  Our front yard project is finished (for now) and everything looks pleasant and inviting.  But walk in that front door and you have to squeeze by the dining room table in our entry way.  It's not even safe to walk in through the garage as it's full of  boxes of new stuff waiting for install in our kitchen.  And oh the kitchen.  I should say, what used to be the kitchen.  It is now an empty shell, void of cabinets, flooring, lighting, anything and everything that made it a kitchen in its former life.  It now stands ready to be remodeled; made anew by accomplished hands with just the right plan and measurements and parts.

When I accepted Christ. He began a new creation in me.  I'd like to say that I immediately began to act like a follower of Jesus, but I wrestled a lot with the Holy Spirit, keeping Him at bay while I tried to be a new creation in my old self.  It has taken awhile, but God is ever so patient with me.  I have come to realize that I need a remodel to make way for the new me.

In His grace and mercy, I don't need a full tear down and reconstruction, but the remodeling that has taken place, and continues to take place, is accomplished only through my willing acceptance of His accomplished hands with just the right plan and measurements and parts.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the end results.  Trust me, the kitchen is going to get done a whole lot sooner than I am!
