Every Day Mom is an Every Day Hero

I interrupt my regularly scheduled posts to comment on a blog freshly released by my friend, June Sokol.  June is blessed with two sons, one of whom, Garrett, has autism.  I know the joy she experiences mothering Garrett; I also can guess at the heartache and difficulties.  However, what I love about June is her choice.  She has made the choice to focus on the can do rather than the can not.  Kids like Garrett deserve the same dignity, love and access to quality of life as the rest of us so-called-normal people.  To that regard, June has made the choice to celebrate Garrett's life not mourn what is missing.  So if you get a chance, won't you please wander over to her blog and share a word of encouragement with her?

Thank you so much for sharing my story with your readers. I'm very lucky to have such a sweet loving boy in Garrett. Many parents are not as fortunate as us so we try to appreciate all the little things.
