What's in a Color? ~ My Popcorn Tale
My new popcorn popper arrived. I originally had a Cuisinart hot oil popper in basic black and it worked like a charm for years. I must tell you that I am an avid popcorn fan so I am not exaggerating when I say it got a lot of use. And then it died. It was sad but inevitable.
So in June, I went out to buy a new one only to find that it gotten fancy. Same basic machine but now it comes in colors, has curvy edges and other unnecessary "improvements." So I bought a white one, brought it home, used it like crazy and four short months later it died. Just flat out died.
Now I have to tell you that this particular popcorn popper is not cheap. No, along with its fancy "improvements" it had gotten a bit expensive so I was not a happy camper when it died it such short order. I returned it and got a refund but I was not keen on spending the big bucks again.
Enter the internet. It seems that Cuisinart put out a pink version (as in breast cancer awareness) that might not have been terribly popular because I scored a new one with tax and no shipping for half price. I don't think the breast cancer connection turned people off; I think that pink is a bit much for most kitchens. I could care less about the color, I just want it to work ~ for along time. Here's hoping that pink does the trick.

From one anti-microwave popcorn lover to another, please accept my sympathies for the loss of 2 poppers in one year. I have high hopes for Pinkie though and cant wait to try some of her yummy perfectly popped perfection.
