Road Trip ~ Eastern Sierras
As I was reviewing photos from the first day of our road trip, I realized that the shots I took of cattle spoke to the extreme differences of both sides of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. On the western flank, the mountains tumble from their peaks down rolling hillsides, and cattle are enjoying 60 degree temps and fresh, neon green Spring grasses.
Their counterparts on the eastern side are still wearing their fur coats and dining on winter's leftovers. Here the mountains rise abruptly from the valley and temps are a good 20 degrees colder.
I wondered if I were a cow, which side would I choose? Thankfully I don't have to! I can just get in my car and enjoy the eye popping beauty offered on both sides of the range.
