Day two of our story. The wallet was found. It wallet was delivered fully intact, cash and all. With the slow response to being found, everyone in my family was convinced that the wallet was found, plundered and dropped back along the roadside. Everyone that is except my husband. He kept hope that it would be found and trusted that the person who found it would be of good character. He was right. We were very, very wrong.
Yes, we had canceled our missing credit cards and done all the other "smart" things one is told to do when a wallet is lost. But my husband never gave up hope on a happy outcome. Our lesson?
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)
I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity (1 Chrn 29:17)
But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in You . Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. (Psalm 9:18, 25:21, 31:24)
