Road Trip ~ To Bend and Beyond

I have been spending the past several days immersed in the glorious beauty that is Montana.  My mother always questioned why people spent time and money traveling to Europe when we have such beauty to explore right here in the U.S.  Well, hiking in Glacier National Park felt a little bit like hiking in  the Swiss Alps.  The pristine alpine surroundings were breath-taking and awe-inspiring.  So inspiring, in fact, that I took over 500 photographs.  If I get 10 good ones that capture the true essence of this slice of heaven, then I will be thrilled.

I will post photos later.  Right now, I'm in Wyoming getting ready to explore Yellowstone, our first ever designated national park.  We have been blessed with glorious autumn summer weather, but have been surprised by the number of people traveling as well.  I guess we aren't the only ones who have figured out that once the kiddies are in school, it's time to hit the highways and explore.  Despite our lack of reservations, however, we have been fortunate to sometimes grab the last room available at nice hotels.  Blessed once again.
