Helping Hand

Today I am making an unabashed pitch for an organization that approaches cancer just a little differently.  Rather than looking for prevention or treatment ~ both of which are totally valuable and valiant things to do ~ this nonprofit deals with the reality of life during treatment.  It helps a cancer patient deal with the often emotional and physical difficulties and discomforts that occur as a direct result of treatment.

Never mind that this organization was started by a dear friend.  Never mind that it's only 3 years old.  Never mind that you might not even live in the neighbor and can actually attend their annual fundraiser. You all know someone, at one time or another, who have been affected by cancer and the subsequent treatments to get rid of this hideous disease.  Won't you please go on the website and either buy a ticket to attend the event ~ or simply make a direct donation ?  I thank you.  The foundation thanks you.  Cancer patients benefiting from the foundation thank you.
