Cultivating an Appreciative Attitude

I woke up to another beautiful morning.  It's fairly typical for this time of year around here but I never fail to be appreciative of the promising day that each beautiful morning brings.  Appreciative.  That's a good word and an even better attitude to have.  I'd like to say it's my regular, automatic attitude, but alas, that would be a lie.  I'm working on it, though.

I will have an opportunity this weekend to be all sorts of appreciative ~ that I can help a young, motherless woman celebrate her nuptials (in fact, all the Groovies are helping out in some way) ~ that I am going with a dear and very knowledgeable friend to view the SFMOMA exhibit of the Gertrude Stein art collection ~ that my son's girlfriend will be in town ~ that I get to spend all my spare time making jewelry for a trunk show to be held at a local art gallery in July.  And there is the simple, everyday stuff of life and family of which I can also be appreciative.

So all in all it promises to be a terrific weekend.  I hope yours is, too.  I will be back on Monday with some thoughts on community.
