When I'm designing and making jewelry, I sometimes listen to music for inspiration. Sometimes, however, I like to sit in silence and just listen to the rhythms of daily life. The weekend rhythm is distinctly its own. The activities that produce these sounds may not be exclusive to the weekend ~ like lawns being mowed, drills and hammers building, and kids playing ~ but they come together in a cadence different from week-day flow.
The same is true for seasons. The summer has a rhythm all its own. It's a slowing down of "must-do" life and a picking up of "refresh-and-have-fun" life.
Whether it's over a weekend or for an entire season, this sweet rhythm is one that that refreshes our spirit, renews us for re-entry to a faster paced life, and fuels the creativity that we later express in our own unique way.
